Interview Preparation

Research the company and be prepared with knowledge about the company, management team, products and competition. Review the company website and learn about their mission, products and services (if available, download the product); read press releases; learn about the management team, investors and partner relationships. Who are their potential customers and what problems their products solve? Who are their competitors and how are they positioned in the market.

  2. If available, download the product or attend a webinar. Read press releases, bio’s of the management team, the investors and partner relationships. Who are their customers and what problems do their products solve? Who are their competitors and how is the company positioned in the market?
  3. Find out if they have been in the news recently. Search the web, read blogs and other online media sources for additional company information.
  4. Before your interview, know the names of the people you will be meeting and their position with the company. Knowing about the people in the interview process will help you approach each meeting and anticipate what their expectations for this position may be. LinkedIn is a key resource to learn about their backgrounds and possible industry connections you may have in common.
  5. After you have completed your research, you can begin to construct thoughtful, insightful questions about the company, market and products. You will be demonstrating your interest in the position and someone who can impact the growth and success of the business?
